Giovani talenti - Voci della periferia

Immagine:
21/10 - 20/11/2011
Museo delle Mura

As part of the "Voci della periferia" (Voices from the periphery), the exhibition is the final event of a competition that saw the participation of dozens of young artists, aged between 18 and 35 years.

On display are the works of 12 of the best young painters, photographers, film makers and sculptors working in Rome. It is evident from their works that they wish to represent the outskirts of Rome in all its contradictions, but without being patronizing.

None of the images in the exhibition offers a stereotyped view of the urban periphery; they aim, instead, to overcome prejudices and discover districts such as Tuscolano, Corviale, Caffarella or Via del Mare. In some cases, through a symbolic operation, the periphery is seen by these artists more as a concept than a real part of the city.
